Cloud Strife
Concept and creation
Cloud was designed by Tetsuya Nomura with influence from Yoshinori Kitase, Hironobu Sakaguchi and Kazushige Nojima. Originally Sakaguchi conceived as one of only three playable characters in the early planning stages of Final Fantasy VII, Cloud's character was more supervision by Nomura with other characters in previous Final Fantasy projects. Nomura has said that the original settings of Cloud's character design called for slicked-back hair black and without nails. This performance was to serve as a contrast to the long, flowing silver hair of the game's main antagonist, Sephiroth. However, to highlight Cloud more and emphasize their role in the game as the main protagonist, Nomura altered the design of Cloud to give sharp, bright, blond hair. Moreover, Nomura was called to review the various lines of Cloud and personality traits. Kitase and Nojima, meanwhile, were responsible for developing background and its relation Cloud with the character of Sephiroth. Cloud weapon, the Buster Sword was originally smaller than its final form in the game, but its increase in height and Nomura redesigned Cloud. Kitase character said:
There really was not much controversy or critical about having him as the hero inside the square, but it's definitely a character mysterious. This is one of the main themes of the game, the fact that the protagonist has all these secrets to unravel. Not a single hero like Superman, but has a lot mysteries, doubts himself and a real dark side. Nomura was also very good in the design of such a character.
oshinori Kitase, Electronic Gaming Monthly, October 2005
Nojima has expressed the dynamics of the relationship between the player and the main character in a Final Fantasy title is something he always puts on thinking, and Final Fantasy VII, Cloud's subdued nature led him to write scenes with the character so that players are placed in the position to decide for themselves what the character was thinking. Nomura believes that the reason why Cloud has become popular with players is due to the impact of personality on stage made Nojima.
For Final Fantasy VII Advent Children, Nomura agreed to direct the project, largely in part due to its attachment to the nature of Cloud. Nomura, in explaining the situation Cloud in the movie, said "Cloud tried to take his life in a positive way after the end of FF7 but falls ... The sin that Cloud thinks it has no fault anyone in particular. Cloud is something has to overcome himself. "Nojima said that the theme of the story is one of redemption." If you want to be forgiven, you have to take the difficult path in life. "Cloud, the choice to fight Sephiroth once again, they are called healing and forgiveness given." Nomura concluded "Cloud appears to be a weak man. In general, the heroes are strong, fresh and has no weaknesses ... Although Cloud is a jerk at times, is indeed similar to human. It is through the redemption of his friends and have children to protect it becomes stronger. "Cloud design in the film is a combination of a total design 8 staff as they were distorted by realistic designs. In contrast to his hair, the clothes were hard to Cloud in the movie.
agent Japanese voice of Cloud, Takahiro Sakurai, first expressed his character in Kingdom Hearts with the idea that Cloud is a character different from that of Final Fantasy VII game he was a fan. For Nomura wanted Advent Children Cloud and the voices of Vincent unlike other each to their similarities. Sakurai said Cloud and pressure to express which was the sequel to Final Fantasy VII. Although he did not care if the critical responses to his work was positive or not, Sakurai said he only received praise. To the express it, Sakurai has in mind that your silence is more expressive than his dialogues and, due to their charges, it appears that Cloud is shown to be a weak person. By Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, Cloud was pointed out by Sakurai to more normal and more expressive. The final scene in which Cloud cries for the death of Zack Fair was one in which he worked most of the Sakurai, and that left the greatest impression on him. Sakurai has come to regard as very important character Cloud, because it reminds its past and is still shocked that he said he was a fan of Final Fantasy VII.
Appearances
Final Fantasy VII
In Final Fantasy VII, Cloud is presented as a mercenary and former member of SOLDIER, first class, an elite military unit operating under the Shinra Company. Presented at the start of the game as apathetic to everything related to their work, the cloud blas attitude towards the objectives of AVALANCHE, a resistance group fighting against Shinra and the threat it poses to the planet causes conflict with the other characters, and their reluctance to produce records Cloud motivation and reliability. Cloud, meanwhile, is proud of his confidence in the past, his skills as a member "ex soldier. After the departure of player of Midgar, Cloud is appointed group leader by the other party members, to the chagrin of Barrett's original leader Avalanche.
In the interaction with Aeris, a flower girl wanted by Shinra and sole survivor of an ancient race known as the Cetra, Cloud's character develop. The author shows increased signs of good-natured humor and protection, unlike the use of antagonists Barret sarcasm or cold compared to the whole world that is not Tifa who spoke earlier. Aeris, in turn, reciprocates this attitude, offering his help to bring back to Cloud Sector 7 and rescue Tifa in Sector 6, despite being his bodyguard Cloud and present danger. Aeris also inquires about the romantic life of Cloud and, depending on options dialogue and actions of the player, could be one of several characters to take Cloud on a "date" on the plate of gold, a huge amusement park, along with Tifa, and less seriously, and optional character Yuffie Barret. This aspect of love triangle between Cloud, Tifa and Aeris focuses mainly on the first disc, and is sometimes used to effect humorous.
When the player arrives at the inn in the town of Kalm, Cloud tells the group in its history with Sephiroth, a member of the legendary soldier and main antagonist game. Having joined SOLDIER emulate Sephiroth, Cloud states in the flashback that is targeted for "large missions" whenever they are available, as the war was over and therefore their potential of fame. Cloud is related to the group then confronted Sephiroth, although it is unable to remember the events that follow directly.
In fact, these events did not occur as described Cloud, but are an amalgam of royal past Cloud (as a member of Shinra army who could not get into SOLDIER) with one's past his friend Zack, mixed with memories of the mind set Tifa, created from a combination of shame, the cells of Jenova and manipulation by Sephiroth. The effects of this auto-making are obvious to the player before the discovery of clouds of truthloud, at the mention of the names of the past or currently leading thereto, will experience a brief decline and collapse instantly apparent physical suffering pain and visual and audio clues to identify any discrepancies. Not until after that Tifa and fall into the Lifestream he, with his breath can reconstruct his past back together, and restore its own personality under which the amalgam had hidden unconsciously, and rejects the delusion that Sephiroth is artificially constructed Sephiroth-clone.
Compilation of Final Fantasy VII

When Tifa faces after the disappearance of Denzel and Marlene, it is revealed that Cloud is suffering from the effects of Geostigma, and he replies that he is unfit to protect his new family and other friends. However, when Tifa urged to let go of the past, Cloud sets out for the forgotten city in search of children, and faces Kadaj, Loz and Yazoo, the genetic remnants of Sephiroth left behind before it could diffuse into the Lifestream completely. Kadaj In front, the battle takes them back to Aerith's church, when the Lifestream Cloud influence their Geostigma spas. Kadaj later merges with the remnants of Jenova, causing Sephiroth to be reborn. When Sephiroth is once again defeated, he dissipates, leaving a dying Kadaj in his place. At the end of the movie, Cloud sees Aeris and Zack in the door of the church of Aeris, and assured them that he will well, you're not alone.
