What should i do? Person i know was robbed?

So someone i know was robbed. I guess someone had been watching him and broke into his truck and stole his tools(he's a construction worker) but he didn't report it to the cops cuz he wants to catch these people that robbed him. He thinks they'll come back for more of his stuff. I'm very worried and thought about letting the cops know but i don't know if i should.What can i do?

I do not think the police would get involved unless the person who was robbed reported it. I cannot understand why he wouldn't. He is looking for trouble if he truly thinks he can catch whoever did it.

The only think you can do is try to persuade your friend that he is not doing society any favors by not reporting it. It is not fair to the rest of us when someone commits a crime and it is not reported.

They may come back for more of his things or try stealing from someone else since they got away with it. Chances are good it is someone he is working with and what is he going to do if he should catch them.

For his own and the protection of the rest of the workers, he should report the theft. He cannot claim a loss on his income taxes or vehicle insurance without a police report. I hope you can talk him into reporting it. He is not doing anyone any favors by not reporting it.
